I spent two summers working with Shakespeare at Winedale, through the University of Texas at Austin. It is a two month Shakespeare residency program where we live out on a large historic property, and memorize, block, costume, choreograph, and fully dissect the text of three Shakespeare plays. We then performed all three plays in rotation, six performances a week!

During my second summer out at Winedale, I was made Sustainability Captain of the program, working with Emma Watkins and UT to further the Shakespeare Sustainably campaign. I learned so much about sustainability in theater and how to ensure we are as sustainable as possible in our theater practices.
